Writing Workshops and School Visits

I am available for author visits, school and library presentations, author-in-residence programs, writing workshops and conferences.

As an author, I love writing. And as a university instructor and workshop facilitator, I love teaching  about writing too. My presentations and writing workshops vary in length from 45 minutes to a full day, and can be offered as single sessions or as a series. All presentations are interactive and include student participation. I will present to groups of any size but prefer smaller groups (maximum thirty) for creative writing workshops.

Writing workshops can be geared to grades four through twelve. I do school visits for all grade levels and I also provide workshops and writing instruction for adults.

All presentations, workshops and programs can be tailored to the needs of the particular group.  Please contact me to discuss your group’s needs and for information about my rates and availability.

My  books include early chapter books, juvenile novels, young adult novels, and teen novels geared to reluctant readers. While kids range a great deal in their interests and reading levels, the following list provides some idea of the appropriate books for each grade level. Free Teacher’s Guides are available on the Orca website for a number of these books.
